JOIN DAWG OR RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP NOW!

Bettering the lives of Douglas County Animals

DAWG's membership period runs for one year and is renewable annually -  $25.00 for an individual membership, $35.00 for a family membership and $100.00 for a business membership.  Lifetime membership is $500.00 for individuals and $750.00 for families.

Membership includes a subscription to DAWG Unleashed, DAWG's quarterly newsletter.

​

We welcome participation in adoption events, fundraising, programs (including the foster program), and promotional events (see "Volunteer Information" section). We encourage you to attend our monthly general membership meetings.

Note: To work with shelter animals, you must be at least 16 years of age with written parental permission, complete a Douglas County volunteer application, complete a Douglas County background check,  and attend an instructional orientation at the shelter. The volunteer application is available at the Douglas County Animal Shelter.

Members:

  • Are encouraged to attend monthly general membership meetings.

  • Are eligible to vote on issues and/or hold a position on the Executive Committee or the Board of Directors

  • Are encouraged to participate in DAWG activities.

**Handling/exercising dogs and cats at the Douglas County Animal Services (DCAS) also requires completion of a Douglas County volunteer application and orientation through DCAS 775-782-9061.

I understand that participation and/or involvement in a Douglas Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) program carries with it the potential for certain risks.  I will hold harmless and release from all liability DAWG and all its members for any injuries to people and animals, including those owned by me and/or damage to me and/or damage to my property.
