FOSTER KITTENS

Hundreds of kittens need foster homes in Douglas County every year.  We have a wonderful team of fosters and are looking for more to help with kittens all shapes, sizes, and ages. 

DAWG covers all expenses including food, litter, supplies and medical care (if needed)

VOLUNTEER AT THE SHELTER

You do NOT need to be a DAWG member to volunteer at Douglas County Animal Care and Services (DCACS)

However, to work with animals you must...

  •  Be at least 16 years of age (under 18 requires parental permission)

  • Complete a DCACS volunteer application

  • Attend an instructional orientation at the shelter

  •  Complete a Douglas County background check

 

The volunteer application is available at DCACS

CAT COTTAGE VOLUNTEERS 

Responsibilities include feeding, watering, cleaning and caring for our guests.

DOG WALKERS 

Responsibilities include walking, exercising and socializing our guests.
